"
The first step to getting the things
you want out of life is this:
Decide what you want."
Ben Stein
St. Francis Bay is a tranquil coastal town with its characteristic architecture. Only about one hour’s drive away from the airport of Port Elizabeth, it is considered to be the getaway to the famous Garden Route.

On the one side there are the canals with their white houses with thatched roofs. Then there is the beautiful Mediterranean area overlooking the sea. And last but not least, on the other side, with its own charm, is the port which is not only known for its squid fishing industry but it is also a popular place to embark on deep-sea game fishing.

St. Francis Bay is also a paradise for water sport enthusiasts. The beach does not only invite you to swim in the sea or in the lagoon but it also has excellent surfing conditions. During the whale season Southern Right whales enter the bay to mate and calf making it a spot for shore-based whale watching.  Miles and miles of sandy beaches and white dunes line the ocean. The warm temperate climate is conducive to long walks, cycling, paddling, tennis and squash or to just relax.

Nature and sport lovers alike are offered a wide selection. Whether you would like to play tennis or squash or canoe down the Kromme River, St. Francis Bay has got it all. In addition, there is an 18-hole golf course in the middle of the town, the Links Course designed by Jack Nicklaus at the entrance of the village and several other golf courses nearby.

Relax in our beautiful holiday resort from where you may undertake various day excursions, for example Tsitsikamma National Park with the famous Storm’s River Mouth, is an hour’s drive away. The malaria-free Addo Elephant National Park, where you come eye to eye with the elephants, can be reached within an hour and a half’s drive. Furthermore there are small private nature reserves and game parks in the vicinity.
